The Creative Bar and 60 Grit Studios to create a tradition of team-based, community-centric events to benefit non-profit organizations.
Murrieta, CA — The softball game between The Creative Bar of Murrieta, Ca and 60 Grit Studios of Temecula, Ca, on January 12th at Cal Oaks Sports Park was quite a success.
Family and friends of both creative companies gathered to cheer on the teams. Because the game was designed to benefit local non-profit organizations, representatives from both of the designated organizations were also in attendance to witness the event and receive the donations after the game ended. The teams donated a set amount based on who won and who lost the game.
60 Grit Studios, who emerged victorious in Sunday’s game and took home the Creative Cup, selected Charity for Charity as the beneficiary of the donation. Charity for Charity is a non-profit organization raising funds to fulfill the wishes of residents with a life-threatening illness or traumatic injury. Charity Prestifilippo, Founder and President of Charity for Charity, graciously accepted a check for $2,500 on their behalf.
The Creative Bar selected Oak Grove Center. Oak Grove Center is a nonprofit residential, educational and treatment Center (with multiple campuses) for children throughout California with psychological, emotional and behavioral problems and special needs. Tammy Wilson, CEO of Oak Grove Center, accepted a check for $1,000 on the organization’s behalf.
Justin Lawler (Principal of The Creative Bar) states that he was “…very pleased with the turn-out for the event, as well as our opportunity to tangibly support organizations that improve the quality of life for community members.” He goes on to say, “Our team is looking forward to creating many more community-based events like this with 60 Grit Studios, and other local businesses. We hope to establish a fun tradition that has an underlying current of doing social good here in Murrieta and Temecula.”
Gerry Marron and Jay Echeverria (co-founders of 60 Grit Studios) were thrilled to secure a game victory, but also “happy that our companies could come together to do something that benefits organizations like Charity for Charity and Oak Grove.” Jay [hopes that]… “this is the first of many events we do together to benefit our local communities.”
Both companies are looking forward to the next event, which will likely be this coming summer and will keep social good as the main purpose. Both The Creative Bar and 60 Grit Studios are hoping that future events will garner even more participation from local businesses and community support.
